I remember using a boxy 35mm B&W film camera at school and developing my own film - loved that - the smell of the chemicals, I then progressed onto some 110 cameras and APS-C cameras, taking a trendy Fuji APSC out clubbing and everywhere with me. My next big step was buying my wife a minolta dynax-5 film camera which she loved (and i stole and used way more than her - "stealing her hobby" as she put it!)

I get inspiration from lots of places, the interwebs, twitter & even books! I love carrying a camera everywhere - be it my iPhone, or my trusty canon. In fact I got a 550D just so i can always have a camera with me! I love looking at not only what my peers are doing in wedding photography but also in other genre's. Being involved in some small off camera flash groups has inspired me to create lighting when it doesn't exist and given me a much broader understanding of lighting.

In the future I'm planning to do more baby and family portraits and am really excited about making weddings the start of a relationship with a client and not just another Job, especially after a wedding when the next natural thing is to start a family. I'm also looking to start some workshops and seminars to help other photographers learn some of the technical aspects of photography - this i've noticed from speaking to various people who've done photography degrees and have come out with next to no knowledge of the technical side.
