Stuart Bailey and Chrissy Asteraki-Speer are a couple of freelance photographers based in the UK.

Out first memory of photography together was at Romney Sands in Kent. Chrissy had just got her first DSLR (Nikon D3000) and Stuart had a Sony point & shoot.

It was a boring grey day and we went to the beach of all places! We didn't expect to get any decent shots. We were both just shooting in fully automatic mode when Stuart spotted a bird watcher in the distance. He grabbed Chrissy's camera, laid on the pebbles and took a photo of him. It turned out to be a half decent shot. That was the first photograph we sold as well.

Our inspiration comes mainly from photographs. We're always looking at images on Flickr and other photo sharing sites. We try and learn the techniques other people use, then use them in our own style. The work of other photographers inspire us a lot too, people like Chase Jarvis, Mario Testino, Dave Hill, Joe McNally, Trey Ratcliff and of course Jay McLaughlin!

The old greats like Ansel Adams and David Bailey really inspire our black and white photography too.

As we're not full time professionals yet, the hope for the future is to one day go full time. We don't mind about not making loads of money with photography. Just enough to pay the mortgage, bills and raise a family would be great.

Photography is a huge pleasure for us so the chance to do it as a full time job would be a dream come true!
